THE FUTURE MAKERS is a 2007 finalist for Discovery Ignite, an initiative which gives independent filmmakers in Australia and New Zealand, the opportunity to pitch documentaries for local co-production.
Directed by Maryella Hatfield, THE FUTURE MAKERS tells the story of eminent scientists in Australia who are leading the way on the world stage in renewable energy.
This Australian documentary explores the visions of these leaders and follows them as their projects unfold.
THE FUTURE MAKERS will have its world television premiere on Discovery Channel’s Planet Green programming block on Monday December 8 at 8.30pm (AEDST).
The future is fighting back as this documentary explores revolutionary technological solutions to global warming devised by key Australians. Their ideas are no longer the realm of science fiction as these technologies have been developed and tested and in some cases, rolled out on a global scale.
However, the question still remains, will the public fully embrace the technology in time to make a difference? With their ideas finally starting to become part of our future, The Future Makers are extremely hopeful.
